The short answer
A first paramedical consultation at SEPEMA is free and carries no obligation. You can have it in clinic at Brighton or by video call, with no deposit and no pressure to proceed. It is a conversation: we look at the area you want treated, talk through your goals and history, explain what is and isn’t realistic, and outline a plan and costs so you can decide in your own time.
Starting a paramedical treatment can feel like a big step, especially if the area you want help with is personal, or has a story attached to it. Knowing what the first appointment involves tends to make it much easier. Here is how it works at SEPEMA.
It starts with a free consultation
Every consultation at SEPEMA is free, with no deposit and no pressure to proceed. You can have it in clinic at Brighton or by video call. Many people use the consultation to find out whether treatment is suitable at all, and some decide that waiting, or seeing their doctor first, is the right next step. That is a perfectly good outcome.
What we cover
- Your goals. What bothers you about the area, and what would feel like a good result for you.
- Your history. How and when the scar, mark or change occurred, any surgery or treatment you have had, your general health, medications, and how your skin heals.
- Assessment. We look closely at the area, including the type, age and condition of the scar or mark, and the surrounding skin. By video, good lighting and clear views help.
- Suitability and timing. Whether treatment is appropriate now, whether it is better to wait, and whether you should speak with your doctor or surgeon first. See when to start scar treatment after surgery.
- Options. Whether restorative needling, camouflage pigment, a combination, or no treatment is the sensible approach. See restorative needling vs microneedling and skin camouflage tattooing.
- Realistic expectations. What improvement is likely, what is not, and why results vary between people.
- The plan and cost. How many sessions to expect, the spacing between them, what healing involves, aftercare, and what each session costs. Sessions for scar revision, stretch mark revision and skin camouflage start from $220, as listed on our service pages.
What to bring
- Any relevant medical information, such as details of your surgery or a letter from your surgeon.
- A list of your medications and any health conditions.
- Your questions. It helps to write them down.
- A support person, if that would make you more comfortable.
A referral is not required to book, but if your area is from surgery it is worth letting your surgeon know.
