General advice across all treatments: Avoid alcohol 24 hours before, caffeine on the day, and blood-thinning medications (aspirin, ibuprofen, nurofen) 3 days prior where safe to do so. Paracetamol is fine throughout.

Arrive with clean, product-free skin on the treatment area.

5–7 days before: Pause all retinoids (tretinoin, retinol, retinaldehyde) and active ingredients (AHAs, BHAs, vitamin C, exfoliating acids) on and around the treatment area.

3 days before: Avoid anti-inflammatory medications — ibuprofen, aspirin, nurofen. These reduce the inflammatory response essential to collagen production. Paracetamol is fine.

1 week before: No sun exposure or tanning to the treatment area. Sunburned skin cannot be treated.

24 hours before: No alcohol. Avoid heavy exercise directly before your appointment.

Important — no numbing cream: Do not self-apply numbing cream before arriving. Healthy blood flow is essential — it is the inflammatory response that drives collagen remodelling and produces your result. Clinic-grade numbing is not used for this service.

Silicone tape: If you have been recommended silicone tape between sessions, continue this protocol up until your appointment and bring your tape with you.

Clothing: Wear comfortable clothing that gives easy access to the treatment area.

Arrive with clean, product-free skin on the treatment area.

5–7 days before: Pause retinoids and active skincare on the treatment area.

3 days before: Avoid anti-inflammatory medications (ibuprofen, aspirin). Paracetamol is fine.

1 week before: No sun exposure or spray tanning to the treatment area.

24 hours before: No alcohol. Avoid heavy exercise immediately before.

No numbing cream: Do not self-apply numbing cream. Healthy circulation is essential to the treatment's effectiveness.

Clothing: Loose, comfortable clothing that gives access to the area. Activewear with fold-down waistbands works well for abdominal or hip treatments.

Hydration: Stay well hydrated in the days leading up to your appointment. Well-hydrated skin responds better to treatment.

Arrive with clean, product-free skin on the treatment area. No moisturiser, fake tan, or makeup on the area on the day of your appointment.

Fake tan: Do not apply fake tan for at least 2 weeks before your appointment. Pigment is matched to your natural skin tone — fake tan on surrounding skin will cause a mismatch once it fades.

Sun exposure: Avoid significant tanning for 1 week before. Arrive with your skin tone as stable and natural as possible.

Colour matching note: Ally custom-blends pigments in clinic in real time in natural light — no reference photos are required. If your skin tone varies significantly with seasons, aim to book when it is most settled.

3 days before: Avoid anti-inflammatory medications where possible.

Clothing: Wear comfortable clothing that allows easy access to the treatment area.

The skin must be fully healed and cleared by your surgeon before treatment begins. Ally is happy to liaise with your surgical team if needed.

On the day: Arrive with clean skin on the chest area. No moisturiser, deodorant, oils, or other products.

Clothing: Wear or bring a comfortable front-opening or loose top that gives easy access without restriction.

Reference photos: You are welcome to bring photos from before surgery or images of desired appearance to help guide shape and size decisions. These are not required — Ally will guide you through all options in person.

Numbing: Topical numbing is applied before treatment and given full time to take effect. Please do not self-apply numbing cream — clinic-grade products are used in session.

Aftercare: Full written aftercare is emailed after your appointment. The treated area needs to be kept clean and protected from direct water pressure during initial healing.

Lip preparation is important — how you arrive affects how evenly pigment heals.

5–7 days before: Apply a nourishing lip balm several times daily to hydrate and condition. Dry or flaky lips affect pigment penetration and healed colour.

2 days before: Use a gentle lip scrub to remove dry skin. Do not scrub the day before — you want smooth, not irritated, lips.

Cold sore history? If you have ever had a cold sore, the needle stimulation can trigger a breakout during healing. This will cause uneven pigment and potentially damage the result. Please consult your pharmacist for a preventative anti-viral such as Famciclovir or Aciclovir and begin taking it 1–3 days before treatment. This step is essential if you have any cold sore history.

Avoid before your appointment:

  • Alcohol — 24 hours before
  • Caffeine — on the day (increases sensitivity and minor bleeding)
  • Blood-thinning medications — 3 days before where safe
  • Lip fillers or facial injectables — minimum 4 weeks before or after
  • Heavy lipstick, lip liner, or plumping products — arrive with clean lips

Numbing: Topical numbing is applied before treatment and given full time to take effect. Most clients experience minimal discomfort.

Do not tint, wax, thread, tweeze, or shape your brows 2–3 weeks before. Ally will shape and map at your appointment — natural growth gives the best foundation to work from.

Avoid before your appointment:

  • Alcohol — 24 hours before
  • Caffeine — on the day
  • Blood-thinning medications — 3 days before where safe
  • Retinoids and actives near the brow area — 2 weeks before
  • Peels, laser, or microdermabrasion — 2 weeks before
  • Anti-wrinkle injections or filler — 4 weeks before or after
  • Tinting — cannot be performed within 2 weeks either side of brow tattooing
  • Lamination — not recommended on tattooed brows

Makeup: Arrive with minimal makeup. No brow pencil, powder, or tint on the day.

Numbing: Topical numbing is applied before treatment and given full time to take effect.

Do not wear contact lenses to your appointment. Please wear glasses. Lenses cannot be replaced immediately after treatment.

Arrive with no eye makeup. All mascara, eyeliner, and eyeshadow must be fully removed before you arrive — not in clinic.

Lash extensions must be fully removed before a lash line enhancement appointment.

Avoid:

  • Caffeine on the day
  • Alcohol 24 hours before
  • Blood-thinning medications 3 days before where safe
  • Lash tinting within 2 weeks

Eye conditions: If you have dry eye syndrome, blepharitis, conjunctivitis, styes, or any active eye condition, please advise Ally before booking. Treatment cannot proceed if the eye area is compromised.

Eye surgery: LASIK, cataract surgery, or any recent eye procedure requires minimum clearance. Advise Ally at consultation.

5–7 days before: Pause retinoids and active ingredients (AHAs, BHAs, vitamin C) on the face.

3 days before: Avoid anti-inflammatory medications, exfoliating treatments, chemical peels, and waxing on the face.

1 week before: No direct sun exposure or spray tanning.

24 hours before: No alcohol. Avoid heavy exercise. Stay well hydrated.

On the day: Arrive with clean, makeup-free skin. No moisturiser, SPF, or serums on the face. Please do not self-apply numbing cream — clinic-grade products are available in session if needed.

5–7 days before: Pause retinoids and strong active ingredients on the face.

3 days before: Avoid exfoliating treatments, scrubs, and chemical peels.

1 week before: No sun exposure or tanning.

24 hours before: No alcohol. Stay hydrated.

On the day: Arrive with clean skin — no makeup, serums, or SPF. After treatment, avoid direct sun for 48 hours and apply SPF daily.

Do not wear contact lenses to your appointment.

Arrive with clean lashes — no mascara, lash serum, or lash products. Residue affects how well the lift formula adheres.

Lash extensions must be fully removed. Allow 2–4 weeks for adhesive residue to clear.

Allow at least 6 weeks between lash lift treatments.

After your appointment: Do not wet lashes, apply mascara, or rub eyes for 24 hours. Avoid steam and swimming for the first day. Sleep on your back on the first night where possible.

Do not wax, thread, or tweeze 24 hours before. Freshly treated skin is more sensitive and the pores are open — this increases the risk of irritation from the lamination solution.

Brow lamination is not recommended on tattooed brows — the processing solution can affect pigment colour and skin integrity.

Tinting note: Brow tinting cannot be performed within two weeks either side of brow tattooing.

Allow at least 6 weeks between lamination treatments.

After your appointment: Keep brows dry for 24 hours. Avoid steaming, heavy exercise, or swimming. Do not apply brow gel or oils for 24 hours.
